We offer Three Instructor Training Programs:
The 1st is the Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor.
The second is the Nitrox Scuba Diving Instructor.
The third is the Semi-Closed Rebreather Diving Instructor

The PDIC Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor Training program by Hawaii Scuba Divers LLC is offered in the islands of Oahu and Maui.

Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor:
This is your final step in the quest to become a PDIC Scuba Diving
Instructor. During the scuba instructor training program, you'll learn to use and adapt the PDIC System of scuba diver education to individual scuba diving student needs. Comprehensive training, supported by a wide variety of PDIC educational materials, earns PDIC Scuba Diving Instructors respect from both students and peers in the scuba diving community.

PDIC Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct a broad range of PDIC scuba diving class training programs from Discover Scuba diving adventures to Divemaster scuba instruction courses.

The PDIC Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor rating sets you apart from the crowd. PDIC Instructors Are the Quality Instructors all Instructors should be.

What do I need to start my Scuba diving Instructor program with PDIC?

PDIC Assistant Instructor certification, Dive Master or be an instructor in good standing with another training organization for at least six months (check with a PDIC Course Director or PDIC Office for qualifying credentials.) Hold a dive certification for at least six months. Have 100 logged dives that include night, deep and navigation dives Proof of CPR training within the last 12 months Medical clearance signed by a physician

What will I do during my Scuba Instructor Training class?
1st this course teaches you how to Teach by using real students not other scuba Diving Instructor students like yourself.
Why, do I need to teach REAL students? well that question should be a NO BRAINIER but systems like Padi do not allow you to work with real students but other Instructor students only. By working with real students under the Instructor Trainer guidance you get the feel and Joy of teaching and that is what teaching Scuba Diving is all about. I am guaranteed to become a scuba diving instructor?? NO, you must be Good at Teaching in order to become a Scuba Diving Instructor...There are to many bad instructors out there and you will not be one of them. If I need extra help will it be Extra??? NO, there is no such thing as long as you are willing to learn we are willing to teach.

You will do Scuba Diving Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations to Scuba Diving students. You perform with Scuba Diving students Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations, Open water workshops, rescue assessment and many other Scuba Diving functions of Scuba Diving Instructor. After you have mastered The functions of a scuba Diving Instructor you will be accepted as a Scuba Diving Professional.

How long will it take?
I am visiting the Islands and want to do Scuba Diving Instructor Course with Hawaii Scuba Divers how long do I need to plan on spending there.. You must be here at least 2 weeks and remember that it may take longer to get your certification.. Times can vary from 10 days to weeks or more. Can I come and finish course at later time if not ready to become certified open water scuba instructor in other words I ran out of time??? YES, Hawaii Scuba Divers will let you have 1 year to return and restart your Scuba diving Instructor course with no charge.

What materials are needed for the Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor course?*

PDIC Instructor Manual
Instructor Candidate Workbook this is daily diary of your strengths and weakness
Open Water Lesson Planning Slate (you do these yourself) Confined Water Lesson Preparation Slate (you do these yourself) Open Water Aquatic Cue Cards (you do these yourself) Confined Water Aquatic Cue Cards (you do these yourself) The Navy Diving manual (suggested not required) Log Book All personal Dive Gear Open Water Diver Manual Recreational Dive Tables Open Water Diver Manual and Exam booklet Advanced Diving Manual Rescue Diver Manual Rescue Diver Final Exams Booklet Divemaster Manual Divemaster Final Exams Booklet These are the same materials used in the PDIC Assistant Instructor course.

The cost for the Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor Course is $1500

The second Scuba Diving Instructor Program offered by Hawaii Scuba Divers is the Nitrox Scuba Diving Instructor:

For this instructor course you can be a certified instructor of any other agencies and do not need to do an instructor cross over you must already be a Nitrox Diver. This instructor course goes over teaching enriched air or Nitrox diving
fundamentals and makes teaching nitrox diving a rewarding class.

The cost for this class is $500

The third Instructor Program offered by Hawaii Scuba Divers is the Semi-Closed Rebreather Diving Instructor.

For this course you must be SCUBA/Nitrox Instructor and have logged 100 hrs in Rebreather Diving and will need to own your Rebreather unit. This is a fantastic way to add new Diving training adventures to your students. This type of diving is not for everyone but your students who try it will be hooked on Rebreather Diving.

Cost for this course is $1500 dollars and is only done in Maui at this Time.
